Zatti Friends Successfully Completes Basic Life Support Training with CDRRMO

The ZATTI Friends Officers, in collaboration with the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CCDRRMO), conducted an intensive two-day training on Basic Life Support last November 22 and 29, 2025, at the Don Bosco Youth Center – Lourdes. Around twenty youth servers from ZATTI Friends–Lourdes participated and learned from nine healthcare providers.
The training covered topics such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillation (AED), Breathing Emergencies, and Foreign Body Airway Obstruction Response. The CCDRRMO trainers provided both theoretical inputs and practical demonstrations to ensure that participants gained a full understanding of the course. A pre-test and post-test, along with a return demonstration, were given—highlighting the participants’ seriousness and dedication to the training.
The collaboration between ZATTI Friends and CCDRRMO emphasized the importance of youth involvement in community emergency preparedness and response. The successful sessions not only enhanced the participants’ life-saving skills but also strengthened camaraderie among the youth, fostering cooperation and mutual support. The participants now carry with them not only essential first aid skills but also a renewed sense of responsibility and commitment to serve others selflessly.
