LAWAAN, CEBU (June 22, 2026) — A grace-filled milestone unfolded yesterday at the Shrine of St. John Bosco the Dreamer at the Sacred Heart Novitiate of the Don Bosco Formation Center, as six young men were canonically admitted to the Salesian Novitiate.

The new novices were formally accepted by Rev. Fr. Amelito Racelis, SDB, Provincial Superior of the Salesians of the Philippines South (FIS) Province. In a deeply meaningful moment of the Rite of Admission, Fr. Racelis entrusted the group to their new Novice Director, Rev. Fr. Roneldo Vilbar, SDB.

Standing before Fr. Vilbar in the shrine, each novice individually and courageously pronounced his statement of entrustment, marking the official beginning of this intensive year of spiritual formation and discernment in the footsteps of Don Bosco.

The community capped the meaningful celebration with a simple dinner, highlighted by a heartfelt rendition of the Magnificat by the new novices—a fitting tribute of praise and gratitude to the Blessed Mother as they begin this sacred chapter of their Salesian journey.
