DBYC-Lawaan Youth Celebrate Christmas with Faith and Joy
by: Kate Andrea Villaso
The DBYC-Lawaan community joyfully celebrated the Christmas season last Sunday, December 14, through a meaningful and lively Christmas party that brought together faith, fellowship, and youthful joy. The whole-day activity reflected the true spirit of Christmas—beginning with reflection and ending with heartfelt moments of gratitude and unity among the youth.

The celebration began with an Advent recollection held at the chapel, led by the pre-novices together with Fr. Wilbert. This sacred time of prayer and reflection allowed the young people to prepare their hearts for the coming of Christ, emphasizing forgiveness, gratitude, and love—the true foundations of the Christmas season.
After the recollection, members from different sodalities proceeded to the Pilgrim Hall, where they gathered for the festive program. As the program officially started, the venue was filled with laughter, cheers, and the vibrant energy of the youth. Participants actively joined various games and activities, while raffle draws added excitement and anticipation throughout the event.
One of the highlights of the celebration was lunch, where everyone enjoyed a shared meal featuring lechon, strengthening bonds through simple moments of togetherness. The joy continued until the end of the program, which concluded on a sweet note with the serving of ice cream, leaving the members happy and fulfilled.
Before the program came to an end, the organizers prepared a special and heartfelt segment that deeply moved the participants. Community songs were played, creating a calm and reflective atmosphere as the members were invited to approach one another—to offer forgiveness, express gratitude, and share sincere appreciation. This meaningful moment allowed the youth to reconcile, give thanks, and strengthen relationships, truly embodying the spirit of Christmas and the values of the Salesian community.
Overall, the DBYC Christmas Party 2025 was a memorable and enriching celebration. It was a day not only filled with fun and laughter but also with reflection, healing, and genuine connection. Through faith, fellowship, and shared joy, the youth experienced Christmas in its truest sense—as one united Salesian family.
