On December 12, 2022, the FIS Province gathered for a triple activity: Cluster Recollection 2022, Celebration of the 400th Death Anniversary of St. Francis de Sales, and the Cluster Christmas Celebration. The simultaneous celebration took place in Don Bosco Formation Center, Lawaan for Cebu Cluster and in Don Bosco Dumangas for Negros Cluster.
The day opened with a welcome spiel from Fr. Adriano Satura, SDB, greeting the Salesians who belong to the Cebu cluster present onsite in DBFC Lawaan and the Negros Cluster who were present online. Speaking from Don Bosco Dumangas, Fr. Fidel Maria Orendain, SDB, FIS Provincial, shared his insights and refllections following the December FIS theme “Prayer as an Act of Love: Prayer allows us to find the heart of God and conform our hearts to his”.
The group sharing and personal adoration followed the talk of Fr. Orendain. The recollection ended with the celebration of the Holy Mass presided by Fr. Amelito Racelis, SDB Vicar of the South Province. Fr. Racelis emphasized the good examples of St. Francis de Sales as the province celebrates his 400th Death Anniversary as well as the history on the devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe whose feast is celebrated on the same day. The Salesians enjoyed the afternoon Christmas Party Celebration that expresses the spirit of camaraderie and joy among the Salesians.
