Flores de Mayo at DBFC-Lawaan
by: Fr. Vince Michael Sabal, SDB
The whole month of May is traditionally dedicated to our Blessed Mother Mary. At DBFC, the Flores de Mayo celebration was organized by the Second-Year Aspirants in collaboration with Fr. Vince Michael Sabal, SDB (DBFC Pastoral Animator and DBYC Youth Director).
Guided by the theme “Anchored in Hope, Pilgrims with Mary,” the Aspirants offered catechetical instruction to children and youth every Sunday of May. This was followed by the praying of the Holy Rosary and the offering of the words “Ave Maria” at the Shrine of St. John Bosco the Dreamer, located at Don Bosco Formation Center–Lawaan.
On May 25, a culminating activity was held. The afternoon began with the usual praying of the Holy Rosary and concluded with fun games for everyone. School supplies and snacks were also provided to those who attended Flores de Mayo, thanks to the generous support of our sponsors.
Indeed, our Blessed Mother Mary walks with us in this Jubilee Year of Hope, and we continue our journey with her as our Mother, Guide, and Help of Christians.
