Provincial House Community Leads Taizé-Inspired Holy Hour for Vocations

by: PH Correspondence

Cebu, Philippines. Families and communities from various religious institutes gathered last July 6 at the Maryville Subdivision Clubhouse in Tigbao, Talamban, for a Taizé-inspired Holy Hour dedicated to praying for vocations. Held every first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m., the Taizé-inspired Holy Hour follows the Catholic tradition of spending an hour in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. It incorporates repetitive chants, periods of silence, and meditative prayer, encouraging participants to deepen their relationship with God through quiet contemplation.

The monthly devotion, organized by the Don Bosco Provincial House Community, welcomes the Daughters of St. Camillus, Little Servants of Christ the King Inc., My Bonita Home for Girls Inc., San Isidro Labrador Parish, San Pedro Calungsod Parish–Pulangbato, Cebu Hope Center Inc., the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Fatima, as well as the Maryville Subdivision homeowners and members of the Salesian Family. It fosters a spirit of prayer, unity, and discernment among the participating communities.

The Holy Hour also serves as a shared moment of prayer and discernment, inviting participants to spend an hour in the presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament while offering intercessions for an increase in religious vocations.
