God is Near

Then taking the five loaves and the two fish,
and looking up to heaven,
Jesus said the blessing over them, broke them,
and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd.
They all ate and were satisfied.
Luke 9:11b-17

  BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST

From First Aid we were told that blood is important. In fact, besides beating and breathing, the other thing an early responder must check in an emergency situation is bleeding. He must try to stop the bleeding before the medics come.

If the body loses much blood it could the result could be fatal. As it happened with Jesus at Calvary, all the blood drained to the ground leaving behind the body on the cross. The separation of the blood from the body in Christ is recalled in the separate consecration of the hosts and wine.

At the Red Cross we can share our blood by donating. In fact, the blood we give can be stored and used for a later time of emergency.

Jesus shares His Body and Blood in the Holy Mass. However, His Body is also reserved in the Blessed Sacrament kept in the tabernacle.

Jesus is near we just have to visit Him. Jesus is there all the time. Don Bosco taught us that if we want grace, we should visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. If we want more grace, then visit more. But if we want less or no grace at all, then do not visit the chapel at all.
