Thirty-three Years in the Ministry
Grabe talaga si Lord… all is Grace! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lord!
Just yesterday I realized that I have been blessed with God’s faithfulness on the 34th anniversary of my Perpetual Profession (24 March 1992). Today’s Feast of the Annunciation marks another milestone, the 33rd anniversary of my Ordination as a Deacon (25 March 1993). It was the day God chose me, configured me to Christ, his beloved Son and suffering Servant, and empowered me with his Holy Spirit to serve Him and his Church for the building up of his Kingdom.
Looking back at the past three decades and three years of ordained ministry, I can say it was all his work. Without Him I could really have done nothing worthwhile. I’m just happy to see the countless miracles he has been doing in me, for me and through me. And I am at the same time humbled by the thought of my weaknesses. For despite my sinfulness he, by his infinite mercy, still chose to use me to continue his mission of salvation esp. among the poor youth, one in spirit and action with my confreres together with the support of the Salesian Family and other lay mission partners.

Please pray for me that this lowly servant of his may persevere in his service, striving day by day to be a sign and bearer of his love for the young until my last breath.
And please pray also with me that many more young people may be inspired to offer their total YES to the Lord, following the spirit and charism of Don Bosco who dedicated his life for poor and underprivileged youth for the greater glory of God.
From my bottomless heart I thank all of you for being with me in this amazing journey towards the fulfillment of God’s wonderful plan. GiGsss!
P.S. If I may be allowed to ask with all humility for a little gift from you on behalf of the 79 Salesians, who are striving to work tirelessly for the young in our Province, let us know if you are willing to offer a daily prayer and, along with it, to share either a one-time gift/donation or a monthly pledge of support both for Don Bosco’s Mission as well as for those fully engaged in the Mission.
May God bless you and your Lenten journey towards a glorious Easter. And may the Bl. Virgin Mary, humble handmaid of the Lord, inspire us all to offer our daily YESes to the Lord who calls us daily to share in his mission of salvation.
