FIS Celebrates Provincial Assembly Days
October 29, 2026, St. Louis School of Don Bosco – Dumaguete – Salesians from different 13 communities in Visayas and Mindanao gathered around the figure of the Provincial, Fr. Amelito Racelis, SDB, to celebrate the Provincial Assembly Days. Fr. Provincial is, by tradition, considered the figure of unity and Don Bosco in our midst. Fr. Mel celebrates his birthday on October 29.
The celebration began the day prior with a warm welcome from the school community and Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Arturo “Julius” Sanchez, SDB, who celebrates his 50th anniversary of religious profession this year. During the mass the Salesians who have important milestones and anniversaries were honored.
The second day saw the Salesians celebrate mass with the students in the school gym. They were then entertained to a showcase of talents. The event capped off with a vocation promotion among senior high students by the pre-novices and novices.
The PADS is a yearly celebration of the provincial community where Salesians take time off their usual schedules to come together around the provincial superior. It helps build unity within the province and is a celebration of the gift of St. John Bosco.
