Youth at Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament

by: Yanzi Zabdiel Labalan

The young people and members of the Salesian Youth Movement of Don Bosco Youth Center here in Lourdes Parish gathered together to pray before the Blessed Sacrament last June 21, 2025. The Eucharistic Adoration was held in honor of the Solemnity of the Corpus Christi or the Most Sacred Body and Blood of Christ.

Bro. Jacob Ersan Rosete, SDB gave a short catechism and instruction to prepare the participants and enable them to celebrate meaningfully the prayer. He explained to the youth the Church’s teaching of the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

Flanked by the Knights of the Altar or the Altar Servers, the Eucharist was then processed, exposed and adored in the gym. The atmosphere fell silent as young people conversed with Jesus. “I needed that personal time with Jesus,” shared Charles Ian Belderol, one of the participants.

In the Salesian tradition, the youth center is not only a place to play but also to pray. Young people are educated to the faith and empowered to celebrate the richness of the Church’s sacraments.
