DBFC Aspirants Deepen Faith and Fraternity Through Summer Camp and BEC Experience
by: Aspirant Alden Ross Fillaro
From June 4 to 11, 2026, the Don Bosco Formation Center (DBFC) community held its Summer Camp with a Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC) Experience in Barangay Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental, followed by a camping and processing activity at Vladjao Hill Resort in Barangay Umilig, Buenavista, Guimaras. The camp carried the theme “Duc In Altum,” which means “Go into the deep.” The activity was attended by some of the formators and all the aspirants as part of their ongoing formation journey.
During the BEC experience, participants immersed themselves in the life of the local community through prayer, fellowship, and pastoral activities. This was followed by a camping experience where they reflected on and processed their encounters and learnings from the immersion.
Indeed, the Summer Camp became a meaningful opportunity for spiritual growth and deeper discernment. The theme “Duc In Altum” invited participants to trust in God and go deeper in their vocational journey through service, reflection, and fraternity. The camp concluded with renewed faith, strengthened brotherhood, and a greater appreciation for community life.
