Don Bosco Philippines South Province

March 6, 2024, ArchSOLL, Cebu City – Salesians from the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes together with the parish’s lay catechists animated by Sr. Evangeline Rago, FMA, organized the confessions of the Grade 6 students in Punta Princesa Elementary School (PPES). Around 250 young souls together with their teachers benefitted from the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

The parish continues its mission of evangelization through a catechetical program in partnership with the local public schools. Lay catechists led by Sr. Eva hold their catechism classes every week in the Catholic majority barangay. Together with this religious education are programs for making the sacraments available. Aside from Confessions, the parish also organizes the First Communion, monthly Masses, and Confirmation Rites for students. Catechists offer these programs from Grade 4 to Grade 10 in PPES.

This is one of the ministries where the Salesian Family works together in the mission of St. John Bosco. Salesian priests from both the parish and the nearby Don Bosco Technical College, together with visiting missionary Fr. Arnel Mengote, SDB, Salesian sisters, lay collaborators and Volunteers of Don Bosco participated in the ministry.
