Last March 22-24, 2024, the Salesian Youth Movement together with DB CLAY organized a Youth Encounter Facilitator’s Seminar and Workshop at Don Bosco Retreat House, Lawaan III, Talisay City, Cebu. The 3 days seminar and workshop aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to facilitate Youth Encounter, fostering an environment where participants can encounter and deepen their relationship with God.

On the first day, the participants had a seminar about the Youth Encounter Virac Model. On the second day, the participants went through each 12 sessions of the Youth Encounter and determine the misconceptions and the necessary things to do during each session. And on the third day, through the interactive sessions by our resource speakers Mr. Gary Leo Gabay and Ms. Mercedita Gabong, the participants were empowered to take on the facilitator’s roles through demonstration of each session of the Youth Encounter.

In conclusion, the YEFSW met its objective and the course taught the participants practical skills and techniques to effectively facilitate a Youth Encounter. By supporting young people’s leadership and spiritual development, this program has enhanced the lives and sparked a movement of youth-led spiritual renewal and involvement in the community. As the journey continues, the seeds sown during this workshop are ready to grow and bear fruit, inspiring future generations of young people to encounter God and embrace their role as instruments of positive change in the world.
